昨日在伦敦法官判决《达芬奇的密码/the da vinci code》不构成对《圣血与圣杯》的抄袭。起诉丹·布朗的是英国的两位学者麦克·贝津特和理查德·雷。他们与另外一名作者在1982年的时候曾出版一本名为《圣血与圣杯》的书。控方律师雷纳·约翰斯认为，《达·芬奇密码》偷借了《圣血与圣杯》的“整个结构”，《圣》书里曾有耶稣曾结婚并有后代延续至今的推测。
Justice Peter Smith said Mr. Brown had indeed relied on the earlier work, "The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail," in writing a section of "The Da Vinci Code." But he said two of the authors of "Holy Blood," Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, had failed in their effort to prove that Mr. Brown had stolen their "central theme" because they could not accurately state what that theme was.
有点有趣的细节是，丹·布朗在事件之间称创作《达芬奇的密码》故事之前根本没有听说过这本书，还是在读者的评论里才得知的，但在昨日的新闻又称丹·布朗承认参考了这本书。是否抄袭这是另一回事，丹·布朗为何要在这个细节上撒谎心虚呢？
